
Machinima Island is a project where we invited audiences to develop, collectively, a story based via a web-site.
We created a series of purpose-built characters and sets inside Second Life for the creation of such content and in order to explore new ways of user participation. This became one of the earliest purposely-built movie sets created inside a virtual world. This idea combined User-Generated content, Machinima and Virtual worlds.
The idea was conceptualised, developed and managed by INTER-ACTIVA, a U.K.-based i-deas company.
